Music does some pretty amazing things.
I’m sitting here, holed up in my bedroom, completely drowning in my anxiety and school work and sadness. I’ve been looking for a break for weeks. Trying to feel better. But it’s been terrible, feeling so lonely and sad and overwhelmed, and so unsure of myself.
I’m sitting here and I find a band that I used to love. They’ve got new music out and I decide to take a listen. Holy Shit. It’s amazing how all it takes is a good record to lift the weights off of my chest. It never stops blowing my mind how when I need it most, I can find exactly what I need even I don’t know exactly what that something is.
I suddenly feel so much better, and my jumbled thoughts are making sense. I live for the goosebumps in these moments. I’m always so surprised when this happens.
Music is so amazing. It is the best part of this life, and this world. None of this would mean anything. I wouldn’t even be alive if it weren’t for music.
Excuse my awe. It’s just so great what these musicians do for listeners. Music changes lives and it is just so amazing to actually feel that first hand.
